Kid‑ & dog‑friendly. Art‑forward vibes with plenty of wine and tap options complete with plant‑lined patio and water bowls for pups.
Arthur Mac’s Tap & Snack – 4006 Martin Luther King Jr Way
Kid-friendly. Dogs Welcome. Pizza, pitchers, arcade games, and a retractable‑roof beer garden that feels like a block party every night. Honorable mention: Arthur Mac’s Little Snack at Bay Street.

Kid‑friendly by day, dog‑friendly always. 21+ at night. Serving burgers, patty melts, and grilled mac and cheese. Good for big groups and a pregame before heading downtown.
Drake’s Dealership – 2325 Broadway
Kid‑friendly until 9 p.m., dog‑friendly all hours. Huge patio, fire pits, wood‑fired pies, 32 taps of house brews. An Oakland mainstay when it comes to beer gardens. Yes, highchairs.
West Oakland
[EDITOR’S PICK] Prescott Market - 1620 18th St
Kid- & dog-friendly. AKA The hottest kid at the school right now. Food hall with massive outdoor area, Almanac brewing tap house, Violetta pizza, and a sandbox. It’s every parent’s dream. Yes, highchairs. Great for large groups.
Stay Gold Deli & Beer Garden – 2635 San Pablo Ave
Kid‑ & dog‑friendly. BBQ deli meets art yard; foosball, picnic tables, rotating tap handles under twinkle lights.
Ghost Town Brewing (West Oakland) – 1960 Adeline St
Dog friendly, kids tolerated. Arguably pouring the best beers in the town right now. Pinball, foosball, and indoor biking. No full menu, but food trucks.
Brix – 3506 MacArthur Blvd
Kid- and dog-friendly. Can feel a bit like the overflow for June’s Pizza next door, but it’s worth a visit. Large industrial space, good for bit groups, board games for the kids.
Laurel
Ghost Town Brewing (Laurel Location) – 3506 MacArthur Blvd
Kids & dogs welcome. Heavy‑metal décor meets neighborly warmth, corn hole out back, and unexpectedly legit pub grub.
Degrees Plato Taproom & Bottle Shop – 4251 MacArthur Blvd
Kid‑friendly, dogs on patio. Latin‑leaning kitchen plus 1,000‑bottle wall; rear garden doubles as neighborhood playground.

The Lodge on Piedmont – 3758 Piedmont Ave
Dog‑friendly, 21+. Retro ski‑lodge vibe, covered patio, biscuit treats for four‑legged regulars.
Catos - 3891 Piedmont Ave
Kid friendly, dogs welcome on patio. Outdoor area is new and has been improved recently. Solid beer choices and decent food — a neighborhood go-to worth a visit.
Doña - 3770 Piedmont Ave
Kid friendly, dogs outside, but we would not recommend it. This is not a traditional “beer garden”, but with awesome food and one of the best outdoor patios around, it has to make the list. Yes, highchairs.
Grand Lake
Heart & Dagger Saloon – 504 Lake Park Ave
Dog‑friendly, no kids. Rock‑and‑roll dive bar with a lemon‑tree‑shaded patio near Lake Merritt. Full bar with no food, but outside food welcome.
Old Oakland
Sante Adairius Rustic Ales – 460 8th St
Kid‑ & dog‑friendly. Truly a hidden gem in Old Oakland. Mixed‑fermentation wizardry in the old Trappist space; spacious patio and next‑door pizza.
Jack London District
Tiger’s Taproom – 308 Jackson St #4
Dog‑friendly, 21+ only. Smallish side-patio. More a cozy beer den. Named after the house pup. Go here for board games, indie taps, and zero minors allowed.
Original Pattern Brewing – 292 4th St
Kid‑friendly, dogs outside. Employee‑owned warehouse pouring medal‑winning hazies; roll‑up doors to a sunny patio. Decent sized patio. No highchairs last we checked.
Oakland United Beerworks – 262 2nd St
Kid‑ & dog‑friendly. Two‑story beer hall overlooking tanks featuring a patio. Pub fare for sale.
Cellarmaker House of Pizza – 300 Webster St
Kid-friendly. Dogs welcome on patio. Pizza and salads on the menu, plenty of inside seating with a street-side patio. Come on Tuesdays for $6 pints.
Line 51 – 303 Castro St.
Kid‑friendly, no dogs inside. Limited outdoor seating, but massive inside space perfect for large groups on rainy days. Buses for kids to play in. Beer is great. Food not so much — but you can bring your own.
Waterfront / Brooklyn Basin
Brotzeit Lokal – 1000 Embarcadero
Kid‑ & dog‑friendly. Bayside German biergarten pouring liter steins with container‑ship views.
Alameda
Faction Brewing – 2501 Monarch St., Alameda
Kid‑ & dog‑friendly. Tarmac patio with skyline views, rotating food trucks, and room for bikes and trikes.
Humble Sea – 2350 Saratoga St. #165, Alameda
Kid- & dog-friendly. Spacious outdoor seating with rotating food trucks and a steady flow of hazy IPAs and other styles. Outside food welcome, cans and bottles to-go.
Almanac Adventureland & Brewery. – 651 W Tower Ave., Alameda
Kid‑ & dog‑friendly. Adventureland is literally in it’s name. Arcade consoles, games, hours of kid entertainment and beers for the dads.
Berkeley
Wondrous Brewing Co. – 1306 65th St., Emeryville
Kid‑ & dog‑friendly. Lager‑focused neighborhood spot with airy, well-designed taproom and a large patio serving wonderfully wondrous beers.
Gilman Brewing – 912 Gilman St., Berkeley
Kid‑ & dog‑friendly. Housed in a converted auto shop next to the iconic 924 Gilman music venue, industrial indoor space and a front patio where dogs are welcome on leash. Serving Detroit‑style pizza and rotating food trucks.
