Hola, hola.

We’re dialing in this ‘sletter a bit. Broadening our horizons — and I need your help.

After some recent feedback, I’ve decided to shift the focus to all things Oakland and East Bay.

TBC will still percolate in the background, but moving forward you can expect:

• More local events of all types

• More local stories that go beyond the outdoors

• Locals-only deals and exclusive offers

• Interviews with local leaders, business owners, and people making sick things

My goal is to make this newsletter a resource for Oaklanders, and anyone living in the East Bay, to find the next great thing in their neighborhood. Like:

• Discovering that new restaurant that opened down the street

• Supporting local retail through reader-only promotions

• Lending your voice to local surveys

• Staying up to date on local organizations and changes

• Finding the best playground to take your kid to this weekend

The list goes on… If any of those sound like something you’d be interested in, you’re reading the right thing. So let’s get to it.

Each week, we bring you a curated list of events for families, couples, and everyone in between.

1. It’s The San Mateo Fair’s last weekend

When: Saturday (6/7) & Sunday (6/8) - 11am - 10pm. Purchase tickets here.

2. East Oakland Futures Fest  

When: Saturday (6/7) - 11am - 6pm. The 4th annual block party is back, kicking off with Team Scraper’s Liberation bike ride. 

3. San Leandro Cherry Parade and Festival

When: Saturday (6/7) - Parade from 10am to 11am, Festival open from 11am - 6pm. Join in the tradition that started back in 1909. Parade, farmer’s market, the whole shebang.

4. Jingletown Open Studios

When: Saturday (6/7) & Sunday (6/8), 11am - 5pm. Get a peek into dozens of local artist studios in Jingletown, open all this weekend.

5. Savor Oakland’s Summer Affair (All Month)

When: All month long at various restaurants across the East Bay. Savor Oakland has teamed up with dozen’s of East Bay restaurants, cafes, and bars to release a smattering of events, happy hours, and dealz. Peek the full list here .
