This year’s Bay Area Theatre week kicked off last Friday 9/12 and runs through the weekend ending Monday 9/22.

Oakland United’s Booze Cruise on USS Potomac
The folks at Oakland United are commandeering the floating time capsule that is the USS Potomac for an evening of craft brews and bay views. 2025 California Coastal Clean-Up Day
Nobody like a trashy beach, so do your part and come on out this Saturday for California state’s annual Coastal Clean-Up Day. Hosted by the California Coastal Commission, the event will feature organized clean up parties at the following Bay Area beaches: Ocean Beach, Muir Beach, Crissy Field East Beach, and Fort Mason. Blues Brews & BBQ Festival @ Washington Park
Not to be confused with the July’s Brews & Blues Festival, the Blues, Brews, & BBQ festival makes it’s 8th showing this Sunday at Alameda’s Washington Park. The FREE festival will feature 4+ live performances, dozens of craft brews, and local pitmasters BBQin’. Sunday 9/21, 12-6pm. Washington Park, Alameda. See details →
27th Annual Piedmont Harvest Festival
The lineup of activities to this event could not be more Piedmont-y. Watermelon eating contest, jazz performances, cider pressings, local art show, carnival games, and a scarecrow alley. Denser housing is coming to a BART station near you — SB79, which is now on Newsom’s desk, will allow the construction of higher density housing near transit hubs. Only a few counties in CA qualify — yes, Alameda is one of them.
Berkeley hit-and-run attempt leaves 3 hospitalized — Scary Tuesday morning in Berkeley’s Elmwood neighborhood when a driver rampaged and left 3 injured. The driver was arrested and is being held on attempted murder charges.
New Oakland bottle shop opens on Telegraph — Good Times Oakland took over the old Tannery Bend Brewing location on Telegraph Ave. in August. The owners are launching a “light” food service today (9/18).
